Our dear friend Sam "Shorts" May passed away a few days ago. We each had the pleasure of befriending Shorts last summer at the National High School Institute Journalism program at Medill.
Not only was he a talented writer and journalist, but he was an incredible human being, a selfless person who cared deeply about each of us. He was truly an original, the only person we've ever met who insisted on wearing jeans during a hot Evanston summer.
We love you, Shorts. Thank you for making the summer of 2010 the best of our lives.

Just letting you know we will be playing this at his funeral. After I watched this, it kept reminding me of everything we did together, and with the others in our home town.

This video is such a grand reminder of what a special guy Sam was, how much he was liked by others and what a great group of friends he made and had at cherubs. We are blessed to have known him and to have the memories. I never stop being amazed at the caliber of wonderful people who were cherubs in 2010.
