Following on from this months Knowledge section, we take a look using a torque wrench with LRO's Technical Editor: Ben Field.

  • Thanks for the feedback. This session is to demonstrate how a torque wrench works and to highlight why they are important for those who aren't familiar with them. We take a look at correct torquing on a set of wheel nuts later in the series.

  • I am quite surprised you have shown the use of a torque wrench without some sort of leader into a head tightening sequence on the cylinder head,.. You going to be covering the angle torque settings too?

    Nice bit of kit though your electronic torque wrench...I'd kill for one of those...

  • Torquing is also about applying even pressure across a surface being bolted down best example is torquing a set wheel nuts, or a cylinder head .... Must admit I have never seen anyone tighten only a few bolts on a head with the rocker cover still in place...
