Peter Gallagher (with Josie de Guzman) sings "My Time of Day" from the 1992 revival of "Guys and Dolls". Full performance begins at 1:30.

This is an excerpt from the highly recommended DVD "Guys and Dolls: Off the Record." Off the Record is not a full-length performance of the classic musical Guys and Dolls, but rather a 55-minute documentary about the making of the studio recording by the cast of the smash 1992 revival.

Peter Gallagher is an extremely successful film, television and theatre actor. In addition to his eight Broadway credits, he's appeared in films like "sex, lies and videotape" and "American Beauty" and in television shows like "O.C."

  • The sax solo is by ''Red'' Press, longtime Broadway pit band musician who usually is also chosen by Broadway producers as the orchestra contractor, who is responsible for hiring the other musicians. In any town top musicians like Press know the best and hire them if available.

  • Golden Globe winner and Tony nominee PETER GALLAGHER makes a rare San Francisco appearance and his West Coast cabaret debut with Bay Area Cabaret at The Venetian Room on SATURDAY - OCTOBER 22, 2011 with his critically acclaimed show "Songs and Stories" - talking about the films he's starred in, like "American Beauty", "sex, lies & videotape" and sings songs from some of the Broadway shows he's starred in, such as "Guys And Dolls". More info at Bay Area Cabaret web site

  • They're both so perfect.

  • Although I am not a night person, I have been out and about late at night when "the street lamp light fills the gutter with gold". Wonderful line. I have also been on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago when "it's four o'clock in the mornin' and all the people have gone away".
