  • this music still lives....

but its so funny how music programs of the sixties were hosted by silly fuddy duddies in bad suits who stared at the artists as though they were going to turn into something...why?

was it to placate the parents? weird!!

  • that's gotta be one of the strangest things i've seen on youtube. we're those prunes laced with acid?

  • I first heard I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night) when it had been just released in UK the on a little portable radio with a single earphone late at night on Radio Luxemburg with the static swooshing in and out. I guess I was about 13. The echo on the vocals and the fuzz guitar sounded fabulous and exotic. I remember thinking "Wow!"

  • @skeletonkey6 Yeah, I can agree somewhat! It has a hard-driving beat/sound that reminds me of "Painted Black", or "Standing In The Shadows" by the stones.

  • yea but it helps to be on drugs

  • You don't have to be high to enjoy and appreciate this music. I've never taken drugs, and I love psychodelic music: Electric Prunes, Jefferson Airplane, some Tommy James'.. etc.¡

  • @skeletonkey6 I read it from the Wiki site (I think)

  • @thebrush03 I've heard that said a lot of times, but in actual fact, the writers of the song said that they had the Rolling Stones in mind when they wrote the song.

  • the guy on the right looks like a young joe pesci

  • I've listened to this song a 1000 times since I first discovered it round 1980 (I've heard lots of other stuff too). The more I listen to it the more I think it's one of the best Rock songs ever. It's true that The Prunes didn't write it, it was written for them by professional songwriters, hit-makers, but the sound, the feel, the arrangement, the performance are theirs. This is the best video clip of it, thank you so much for posting this. I heard that bassist Mark Tulin died recently, rip

  • This was written as a country western hit. (Which explains the name) The arrangement and group put it on the map.

  • its mike douglas he was the oprah and helen of that time young and old watched him
