Hey, did you fill the water holes on the 4.0 head? Or did it fit perfectly on the 4.2 block. I've heard that you have to fill the water holes so it won't leak coolant, but some times you don't have to on some 4.2. If you did fill the holes, what method did you use?

That sounds Awesome! I plan to do the same with my 1990 yj, I got the 4.0 head from the junkyard. What do I have to do to the 4.0 head before putting it in? Can I use the 4.2 push rods? Does it pass smog with the 4.0 head? Great job.

I have the high output 7120 4.0 head its better than the normal 4.0 head, check it, and just put in, and you can use the 4.2 rods in the 4.0 thats not problem and keep jeeping hehehe
