  • And yes, prstaci (or in singular - prstac) got their name by their finger-shape. Croatian word for finger is prst and prst-ac is probably a diminutive in Dalmatian dialect (I'm Slavonian). If it's so, proper diminutive of prst in standard Croatian would be prst-ić. But prstići are also a type of rolls, so let's better leave the matters be :D

Also, your beard is splendid. I too think that beards should be repopularized, especially among us, young men so, cheers from my beard!

  • If our new government doesn't fix things (and I'm not fond of believing in that scenario because all of them are EU-poltrons, while about 70% of people doesn't want the union) and things continue to regress like this, I give maximum of 5-10 years before some massive rebellions happening, so it's good that you visited Croatia while it's still peaceful. May God help us all.

And, of course, thank you for your videos, they are superb! :D

  • Our traitorous politicians helped that a lot. All of them push Croatia into EU only because they will have 10-12 times bigger wages and one of the EU's main access demands for Croatia was that we don't establish ZERP, which stands for Protected ecological and fishing zone. Our fishermen are losing their businesses because Italians literally scraped the seafloor of fish and other seafood. Similar things are happening throughout all Croatia and you can feel despair and rage in the air.

  • @Davidsbeenhere

It's illegal to gather prstaci in the open sea because it destroys seafloor, but if you are farming them, then that's ok. However, prstaci need decades to grow to their commercial size so most of them are illegally obtained.

That's the problem with the Croatian mentality, especially with Dalmatians - enjoy now, who cares about the future. Italians are also a pain in the ass because they are constantly stealing tons of fish from our state sea.

  • @Davidsbeenhere yes, they are illegal in almost all European Mediterranean countries because in order to get to them you have to break the rocks in the sea and this damages the whole underwater eco-system. Interesting thing about prstaci, they need about 60 years to grow, so you are basically eating something that took 60 years to grow. They are delicious anyways.

I just came back from Villa Nora, good hotel, good restaurant, but the music at night can be too loud.
