I say the native people of the Caribbean and the Latin America survive in modern day Latinos. However, a lot of mixing has occurred in the last 500 yrs that nearly all of us also have a lot of Spanish blood and even African. We speak Spanish and most of our customs are Iberian based; that makes us Latino in my opinion. A Mestizo, I am proud of having both Spanish and Native blood for different reasons and I am not ashamed of attrocitiies that occurred in a different time.
