OMG! right back in Catholic School! Even though I haven't sung this in years, I still remember all the words.

I used to sing this when I was cantor at our church, Larry. It has always been one of my favorites. Your version is beautiful and reverent. I can't compare old mass to the new mass as I was an adult convert, but I appreciate all songs that are sung in praise of Him.

A wonderfully reverent job on this great classic song of the faith, Larry. Thanks again for sharing such excellent covers of so many oldies that have deep meaning and staying power. And thank you for allowing the gifts to flow through you to everyone out here in YT Land.

Appropriate for Pentecost that you chose to sing the Trinitarian stanza.

Wow, Larry. This is incredible. You are truly blessed, and now so are we to have been allowed to share in this with you. Keep up the good work, my friend.

We sang this beautiful traditional hymn as we walked ahead of my father's casket five years ago. Thanks for this lovely rendition.

Yet there are people who think we oughta be strumming "Gather Us In." Here's a piece of real, sacred music. Not a rock concert here. Nicely done, Larry. I'd love to hear you try Ave Maria if it's in your vocal range (as a weak tenor, I can muddle through parts of it...)

@podline66 Amen Larry!

@podline66 My wife had a priest at one time when she was a kid who sang the consecration...rather a bit stilted. Thing is, when it's in Latin it flows well. Just seems the english versions of sung masses don't work too well.
Hey Larry great job on this hymm...They used to sing this at Mass but then stopped.. I wish though that Mass at my church would go back to the old school method instead of having every little thing sung...except for the readings and homily... :-)

@SQDLVR I am totally with you on that. I don't care for all that singing. I believe singing prayers meant to be spoken often distracts people from their meaning. And truthfully, many of the melodies written for that purpose aren't very 'melodic'. They sound 'forced' to me. Keep it simple I say. And (I know I'm sounding old) keep the older hymns. Like this one. I find the Mass more meaningful when less flowery. Elegant simplicity is best in my opinion.

@SQDLVR Just be glad they don't sing the homily.. That could get ugly fast...
