  • The dissociation of the ammonium and the nitrate ions from each other is the endothermic process; it is obtaining this energy from the surrounding system (the water) and hence when you measure the temperature of the aqueous solution, the temperature of the solution goes down

  • Shouldn't an endothermic process absorb heat and therefore rise in temperature?
