A short video shot with a damaged Canon A630 camera, then edited with Final Cut Pro. Audio assembled with Pro Tools -- purchased with an academic discount from Sweetwater.com.

Most audio recorded with a handheld Olympus 480 PC Wave Recorder. Only the words of the fireman at end remain of the sound recorded by the Canon A630. All other sound recorded on Olympus, assembled in Pro Tools.

In the video, Los Angeles Fire Department personnel recharge the water tanks of Fire Attack helicopters during the Mereck fire of November 2008. Helicopters land a few hundred meters to the east of Olive View Hospital in Sylmar, California.

All the trees and brush seen in the images burned in the Sayre fire of 15 November, 2008. For images and videos of the Sayre fire, go to lamissionwriting.com.
