Phony portrayals of Michael Jackson's voice were the main weapon the media used to degrade his masculinity. A practiced falsetto singer, Jackson was often shy and tense in interviews, which caused him to speak softly.

The media ran with this, often portraying him with the voice of a girl. Over the years, the caricatures drowned out Michael's real voice, but you can hear it clearly in these clips.

  • yes at 4:20 that's Michael.. naturally hes always had a deeper voice.... but hes always had a huge vocal range.. and could express his music in different ways with his voice.. and with age his voice has only gotten deeper.. for people to think and assume that Michael Jackson was gay.. or a " a women" are completely naive and ignorant.. there is no denying he is a man.. he freakin originated grabing his dick for Gods sake lmao who else can say that?.. what else would he be touching??.

  • he sound like a man the media wicked when he singing he sound masculine anyway for years to me especially live i like the i love you song to elizabeth taylor

  • @jxhensley

I believe so. :) Keep in mind what Michael could do with his voice! He could imitate EVERY SINGLE instrument. :D

  • YES!! GREAT VIDEO--Thanks for this--they didn't want him recognized as a man and really not even a human being--he was portrayed as even outside the human realm (freak)--SO SAD. I tried to watch part 2 but they said I can't--blocked in my country--which is USA. Can you tell me what's up with that? I would so like to see Part 2. Thanks again--great work!

  • It's going to be amazing to see him in the new world beautiful video

  • @MrShayneOneill fascinating. thanks for that

  • 5:47, what the hell was he yelling? I have seen the History tour so much, I have seen this military transition from wanna be starting something to they dont really care about us, but I could never tell what this man was yelling right here..

  • 7:54 MJ's face looks so funny.

  • Michael always talked very soft and high so he could save his singing voice.

  • Jacksons higher pitched voice may well be a good proof he was telling the truth about his skin disorders. The mechanisms involved with producing pigmentation are strongly related to the mechanisms involved with testosterone production (I'm *not* saying he was feminine!) , and thus its entirely plausible that since testostrone is what produces the deepening in male voices, he might have had some metabolic fault there. Either way, he had a fucken magic voice so its not exactly a disability.
