Daytona USA 2001 - 100hrs Car Unlocked + 777 Speedway Replay

The moment I clocked 100 hours on Daytona USA 2001 unlocking the Javelin car, now here for all too see or to remind your selfs of the moment. This was all done in real time so to clock up the last couple of minutes I run my fastest replay of Three Seven Speedway using the Hornet with standard Medium tyers,(check my highscore table in the video which can be seen before I load the replay for verification of my time and settings).

Lap 2 your see I hit the wall and lost 200-300th of a second, however I believed this helped later on when I got too lap 4 because the bang from lap 2 had slowed me down enough to catch the slipstream of the green car on the straight on lap 4.

@lilryanps3 Indeed a minor wall scrape is not good, but as luck would have it the AI's position was changed from slowing down allowing me to be a little quicker than I hoped for there after with the style of play I was using at the time. Movie was used as a time filler to get the clock ticking past the 100hrs mark. ;-)

To add.

On Sega Saturn - the original Daytona USA is best played on the Official Saturn Steering Wheel because being analog not many people know that the arcade machines over-steer feature was added to this version and it's something that the Saturn Pad can not do. Also best to set all 4 gears on buttons, both wheel or pad.

The worlds best arcade players on the arcade machine also use the same technique, counter steering into a corner before drifting. OutRun2 & OutRun2SP uses it even more!

@wyabcp Normal Dreamcast control pad. To get the very best out of Daytona USA you need all 4 gears at your finger tips just like the arcade machine stick. I think I had:

X = 1st Gear

A = 2nd Gear

Y = 3rd Gear

B = 4th Gear

As an example the car will power-slide totally different doing 4/2/4 than it will doing 4/3/2/3/4.

Sonic Corner:

Yes from 4th gear I go straight into 2nd gear to set the drift, then power out in 4th gear. So its 4/2/4.

Can be done on Sega Saturn but it's different 4/1/4
