It must be played MAESTOSO. So it is here. I like this slow tempo very much ! Great music and a great interpretation.

Nice to hear this, though it could be played faster. This is the vocal version which starts with the little-played verse which begins with the words "Dear land of hope, thy hope is crowned", written for the coronation of King Edward VII in 1901, but not sung until 1902 by Clara Butt in 1902. The verses are followed by the chorus which is the well known tune with the refrain "Land of Hope and Glory" using the tune from Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 by Elgar, which the King liked.

I agree with you on that. This rendition is horrible.

Maybe you are referring to The Grand March by Verdi. It was a piece in a play called Aida.
rip randy savage.

This was played at my college commencement. It was cool because our conductor handed the baton to a student so that he could give each graduating band member a congratulatory hug. The professors and other faculty filed in then came the graduates. My friends and family all were beaming with pride. I had earned the right to wear the red cap and gown of our college! It was awesome! :)
