"Still of the Night" is a single released by Whitesnake, from their hugely successful self titled 1987 album. The song was written by lead singer David Coverdale and guitarist John Sykes, and proved to be one of the band's most popular songs. It combines the blues origins of the band with the more distorted, harder sound driving the song, making for a powerful hard rock song. The current Whitesnake lineup and John Sykes both play the song as their live encore.
A music video, featuring Coverdale's then future wife Tawny Kitaen, was shot for the song, and it was MTV's most requested video in its first week of release.

Good times. I remember when this album was brand friggin' new. I was listening to it in my friends stereo that just so happened to be in his Trans Am GTA. We were going 120 miles per hour on our way to Wildwood with this blasting. I'm 43 now, I was 18 then. Sigh. Sometimes you just think about your younger years and become sad and bittersweet at the same time.

He's not even using it. It's all just visual for the MV. It's also not that hard using an E-bow on a guitar. You get the same sound as you would with a volume pedal ( using it correctly ) or turning the knob up & down on a stratocaster while using vibrato on a note.

Absolutely. I Still get turned on by the guy who is playing the guitar with a violin bow. That takes massive abounts of skill.

I think it really sucks how much people focused on Tawny rather than the greatness of this song and band. I know thats my opinion, but songs like this can prove what a band can do damnit...
