Whichever mindless twat cut off the last couple of seconds of this faultless performance and allowed that screeching ugly fat black mama to destroy the mood should have his ears cut off.
This man's small nuances and/or changes/shifts of even one word or note, in and of his own songs, is incredibly powerful.....he can change his own song with one word substitution or a tempo shift on the guitar, and it is a powerful result, I can't do that, and I haven't see
No one can paint a picture in song the way that James taylor does. Like an artist with a canvas. This is my favorite song of his and yet it is so unknown. I love the version with piano and gutitar on One Man Band.
What I love about this song is that each time JT sings it, it is just a little different than the others. So often artists are content to make their songs sound exactly the same every time they sing it. JT takes that song, HIS song, HIS creation, and he makes it new every time...and every time, I as his fan, am amazed at how awesome it is.

May the deep ice that covers the past move us to warm our collective futures. Haunting song.

Pure musical genius...the chorus line notes conjure up an image in my mind that never leaves me.
I don't want it to.
