The following shows the progress of my XNA Rpg, showcasing map import/export in XML, improved weather system, and the beginnings of an event system integrated into the editor.

  • uh..one question about the day/night stystem..do you manipulate every single layer on the screen manualy or can you just say that all surfaces drawn to the screen will change colour-gamma ? just wonder how this works..but i went mainstream with sdl anyway..

  • looking pretty good, how long has it taken you to put together

  • @fatso784 how do you do that color-gamma thing?

  • @Lumalalelo im gonna tackle you

  • that's awesome work, great job ! i'm relatively new to gameprogramming and haven't come this far yet..but i'll tackle it ;)

  • I can see that... the only thing I would want from it is some interaction like Grandia has.

  • Yes. He probably does. I'm not the dumb ass here. Let's look at your question, "Wtf this is the textures from RPG maker!!!!! not your engine??" The phrase "Not your engine??" seems to communicate that you think the tiles are part of the engine. Now if that is not what you meant, that's your fault for not communicating your question well. I responded to your query accordingly. If you said, "WTF those aren't original game graphics. Those tiles are from RPG maker" then that would be correct.

  • he means tile Dumb ass <_<

  • A game engine doesn't have textures. Textures is something you bring into the engine. it's art and can be replaced. Graphics are not hardwired into a game engine... Ugh. I don't even want to try to explain this. Let's just say you need the engine and filler graphics to determine the best way for it to work before you waste time producing final graphics.
