The picture you see on this video is that of Sarah and Amina Said, who were killed by their father, Yaser Said for being too Western, or in other words Muslim hypocrites. Yaser Said has yet to be apprehended, and is believed to be in Egypt, which means he's being helped by the Muslim community there, which means they support "honor killings." Sarah and Amina were murdered by their father not in Iraq or Pakistan, but in Irving Texas.

Bukhari V1B4N148, "The wives of the prophet used to go to Al-Manasi, a vast open place (near Baqia at Medina) to answer the call of nature at night. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is ever oft-forgiving, most merciful. If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts are a disease and those who spread false news among the people in Medina do not stop, we shall certainly let you overpower them, and their days in the city—as your neighbors—will be numbered. Accursed, they shall be seized wherever found, and killed with a terrible slaughter. That was they way of Allah in the case of those who passed away of old, and you will not find any change in the way of Allah."

How is this a misconception of Islam? Have you read the Qur'an and the Hadiths? In the Bible everytime the command for violence is given that people or nation is given by name. In the Islamic scriptures violence is commanded against unbelievers, hypocrites, and mischief-makers, so it's open-ended. Example: "Then when the sacred months have passed, then kill the disbelievers wherever you find them (Qur'an 9:5). Why is it that most cases of honor killings are in the Muslim world?

This is a tragedy, but it is not due to the followings of a religion. It is a distortion of religion. Our out rage for this terrible act can not be misdirected towards a religion. We need to look at this in the same way we look at cases like the Andrea Yates drowings. She was a christian and believed that she was drowing her children to save their souls. Christians do not randomly kill children in the name of God. This was a random act by a father who only coincidentally was Islamic.
