Bongos??? Bongos for Bud??? I don't think so....the next thing you know, Bud will become a beatnik....going around saying "coolsville", "man", "dig", etc. Heavens to Maynard G. Krebs! He'll start to wear old sweatshirts & a beret...and grow a goatee! I shudder at the thought! I say they should have sent him over to stay with Ricky & David at Ozzie & Harriet's house, having fun drinking malts & drawing moustaches on photos of President Eisenhower in the newspaper. Good clean fun!

this was one of my favorite re runs. it used to come on the mornings in the 70s. i was in the 5th grade and loved the show, still do. poor robert young suffered from horrble addiction the "cathy" drug addicted and selling herself to men show was NOT reality for sure.

I can't believe this when I read your comment, b/c I thought the very same thing! We SURE didn't have paper towels in those days either.

I meant at my house we didn't have paper towels, and I was surprised to see that paper towels actually existed in the 50;s. At my house it wasn't until the 60'snthat we got them. Maybe only rich ppl. had them in the 50's.

oh i see, well it is still an interesting trivia question. given the price of them maybe rich people are still the only ones with them today!

The show was sponsored by the Scott Paper Company. Maybe that has something to do with it. (Reading a book in class - 'Connections: A Broadcast History Reader - Michele Hilmes').

now find out who sponsored the donna reed show, dobie gillis and the adventures of ozzie and harriet. nabisco sponsored the patty duke show so we're good there. we will establish a pattern here.
