Cherry Barbs, Kribensis pair, Boesemani Rainbowfish, Pictus Cats, Dwarf Gourami, and one wimpy (but very cool) Electric Blue Jack Dempsey that was driven out of the 75G cichlid tank.

  • how did this tank work out the fish still alive i was thinknig of the same set up but i didn't know how it would work out?

  • @darkspawnclone It has worked out great. I had a couple deaths - the Dwarf G and a couple cherry barbs for unknown reasons.

Now I have a couple Bolivian Rams in there. I took the Pictus Cats out and put them in another tank. Ol Beakface is the ruler of the tank, but shows absolutely no aggression.

  • @darkspawnclone Sorry for the belated response. I had one or two probs since setting it up. Dwarf G's are very fragile fish and are poorly bred. They all seem to expire for unknown reasons. Most likely it is a fish virus or poor genetics. I don't recommend Dwarf Gourami's because of this. My big prob is keeping Blue Rams. I have not been able to keep any alive for more than 3 months. They eventually get pale and die overnight. I do believe feeding them blood worms is a big negative.

  • love tha ebjd. he has awesome color!

  • Ol' Beakface? Yeah, he's cool but such a wimp. The Krib chases him around. ;)

  • I also had the same issue with the Rams The issue is that they have to have very soft water If you don't have soft water you will have to make it soft which can be expensive and hard to mantain stability The only thing I can think of is to use RO water and add RO complete to it which is very pricey for fresh water fish Its ahame because I think they are beautiful I kept them in a planted Amazon tank that was fully cycled There seemed to be no reason why they wouldnt do well but no luck
