I prefer the Tamiya acrylics, they are waterbased and you don't need expensive thinners, just use water to rinse your brushes and methanol alcohol as a thinner. Works perfectly for me. Lots of the fancy stuff these Japanese modellers are using , you don't really need. There are a lot of substitutes like Scotch Brite pads. Use your fantasy while modelling. You can do wonders just with a lighter, a small drill and lots of imagionation.

I know little about paint and model. But what she uses on a cotton swab is just water because the yellow line is water soluble kids paint from dollar shop. It's not acrylic so erasable even after it's dry. I don't know if the tank body is oil or acrylic - you know better. She used the hell expensive British enamel because (1) it nicely restrains the gloss when it comes to rather detailed shadows, creases and wrinkles (2) when over paint or make gradation, it doesn't wipe the lower layers.

Hello!
She actually used Gunze lacquers on the tank, not acrylics, so the cotton swab (which had acrylic solvent, same as the marker) didn't removed the lower layers. She used enamels on the figure due to the variety in tones, most professional figure modellers use enamels for those. Hope that helps after a while!
