  • Trihex, if you don't mind this comment, i like these older yoshi's island speedruns more because they require more routing and planning out. It seems in the any% runs you are doing now could be optimized with enhanced performance, as opposed to these 100% runs which can be improved by altered routes and move choices. i hope you get to redoing these soon.

  • Oh, of course. Don't take my comment replying to andyfaceMcGee as that I'm finished with 100% speedruns.

I actually enjoy producing/planning/watching my 100%'s more than the any%'s.

I was merely stating that my any%'s are more polished than all the 2006 100% speedruns.

Though I am working on the hefty goal of improving almost (excluding like, 5 out of the current 57 levels total) every 100% speedrun I have up!

  • Your shit is epic. Half the time I don't know what's going on, it's just so fast. it's so damn entertaining.

  • I wish you had said that about the more modern speedruns (All the any% level speedruns), as those are the newest, and done to my current state of perfection.

This particular speedrun, 4-2, is from 2006, and is really due for some polish despite the impressive maneuvers throughout .

One immediately noticeable error is having to retrieve star #20 at 0:42. With more optimization, it's possible to get it before it falls down there.

One of the many things to be improved of course! :)

  • 1:27 Holy Crap that was pro O.O

  • sorry Mr Gardikis, I didn't realize there were mistakes or improvements for that matter. My statement still stands though, and it was a general comment for all your videos.

  • At first I used Marshmallow's (a speedrunner who did the first generation of Yoshi's Island level speedruns in 2004) speedruns for reference, but after a while I started to use Spezzafer's in-progress TAS for guides on how to further improve my routes and egg management.

To answer your question, I memorize it all. It isn't as memory-intensive as you suggest. I easily have the layout of every level memorized, and routing them in my head is a cinch at this point.
