@nvidiaperformance - Not that I think that gas engines are more efficient compared to electric... But, how exactly does this video demonstrate that electric engines are more efficient than gas engines? All I see was an RX7 powered by an electric engine beating a Viper.

rx7 everytime wins with electric or gasoline it doesn't matter !!

and....recharge

Electric motor: 1 RPM - 100% torque

Not a rotary but still cool! Electric motors are cool.

@what519 I know what you are talking about but the Viper was running and most likely launched at a higher than idle rpm. Vipers peak torque is right around 4k btw. Again, instant torque had nothing to do with this race. Traction and power/torque to weight ratio was what won the race here and pretty much is the deciding factor in every drag race for that matter. The viper spun off the line but would have probably lost anyway due to the power/weight ratio of the RX7.

@MyOpinionMatterss i have no clue, i don't remember that first comment. i meant lag in torque i'm assuming. the tesla roadster for instance has a shitload of torque from 0 rpm all the way to its max rpm. the viper can't have torque at 0 rpm since the engine wouldn't be on. the viper's rated torque is at 5000 rpm, so do you get what i tried to say but botched?

@toyotaprius79 viper's got an 8.4 L V10, very heavy engine. and if you compare the horsepower/Liter ratio for an rx7 to a viper, the rx7's will be much higher. plus the rx7 is so much lighter and not as expensive to "fix up" as the viper as well. i'd rather have a 911 turbo or at least watch that beat the viper :)

there is hope afterall
one more time it's demonstrated that electric engines are more efficient than gas powered engines. the only deal is with the batteries
