@Cafeeine Hmm ok. Maybe you should research some miracles that are happening in the name of Jesus or watch Christian TV.

@alexandervanwyk The desire to minimize harm in society is arguably selfish, as we all benefit from it, but its perfectly compatible with altruistic actions. And while the motives of said social workers may be a mystery to you and me, their existence is not. If only the same could be said of gods...
-
@JamaicanTrooper Humans are by nature selfish. Every single one. You must ask yourself what the social worker motives are. Note that you don't have to please God with your works, because He saves people by grace. He's not human.

@TheContemptress Well, it does, in the same way that theism puts most believers in the same category as Newton. Acknowledging a kinship in one issue does not necessarily translate to further similarities. While many try to emulate Dawkins, or Sagan, or Feynman etc. I don't think you can draw closer parallels than is warranted.

@alexandervanwyk .... not a bad thing, but it would be nice to think that these social workers would reach out to the needy regardless of their beliefs. Are they just doing what their religion tells them to, with hopes of getting into heaven, or are they truly selfless and compassionate? I hope the latter is true...

Most of the self-styled atheists I've seen so far, at least on YT, are of the opinion that simply a disbelief in God somehow puts them in the same league or category as scientists, such as Dawkins or Carl Sagan. This delusion makes them feel just as comfortable as the one they oppose, and I call it the atheist delusion.
@TheOptimistPrime
You don't expect a guy running a mega corporation that sells to Christians is going to speak his mind and say religion is a bunch of bullshit do you? :)

Naw, keys go to the pile in Heaven when you lose them. If you never find them, they'll be waiting for you in Heaven after you die. George Carlin told me.
