  • Hey MyOldGuitars try to be more kind and professional when you reply to people that criticize your videos. I agree with the many people who think this video didnt get at all the point of showing the different tone of the two guitars... sue me for that now if you want -.-

  • Thank you for your opinion. My comment "You might want to do some fact checking" was in response to "Ever notice all the 'famous' guys that made the LP famous, moved on to other guitars as soon as they could afford to? If they stayed, it's because they got paid to do so."

  • Who's the guitarplayer? The Belgian Philippe Catherine ?

  • The infamous Dave Carpenter.

  • You might want to do some fact checking.

  • Once again Entertainment Central, your comments make little sense. If you think there is little difference between the way a semi acoustic and a solid body LP sound overdriven or distorted, then your comments truly do hold no merit.

As far as your experience, I find it hard to believe that someone with such vast experience as a guitar builder would make such a stupid comment. This conversation needs to go no further.

  • Very cool series! I look forward to seeing more!

  • @ih8thishit what do you think the most expensive and desirable solid body electric guitar is?

  • @Johngtr13: Play your guitar as many times as you "have to say this" and then post your own demos.

  • Nice demo, nice jamming. This reveals the ideal qualities of the solid mahogany that anchors the '59 LP. They had better choices available then, and dried the wood slowly. Are the ES-330's P-90's single coil or are those the stacked humbuckers? I'd like to hear the 330 with the '59's pickups installed. To the dipshits: If these kinds of guitars all sound the same to you because "it's just the distortion" then YOUR HEARING SUCKS. Fuck off and play your favorites and leave this to the adults.

  • Sweeeet!

  • Very nice playing Mr. Carpenter. I love to hear that the 330 sounds a little more dirty than the Paul. :-))

  • I vote for Gretsch. I'm a fanboy...

  • @boneypart actually i can hear a slight difference when he played the same opening riff with the two guitars at the beginning...very slight... think the hollow body gives a little more mid...or the LP has more treble...

  • These demos go a LONG way proving that once you get up to the distortion level, its ALL about the amp. The guitar plays a very minor role as far as tone. Spend the money on the amp tone...almost any guitar will do the job.

  • @krishotsaucemiller

Well said ! absolutely no difference between guitars can be heard with this overdriven sound. Morons....
