First the right called him a communist and now a fascist? Those are complete opposites. They're just desperate to find reasons to make Obama seem radical so that a black man won't get elected. The racist GOP is the shame of America.

Actually Fascism/National Socialism were never the opposites of Communism. National Socialism always maintained its position as having been an expression of German Socialism and Italian Fascism was rooted in National-Syndicalism -an infusion of Nationalism and Revolutionary Syndicalism. Nazi Germany later put Mussolini under pressure to further socialize Italy's economy. Hence the rise of the Italian Social Republic.

Karl Marx didn't to my knowledge promote anything like Fascism. He predicted it and criticized it.

Regardless, neither fascism nor communism have anything to do with Barack Obama, and if they do I'd like to hear it.

My argument was pointed at Communist Socialism (the only form of Communism to actually materialize), not Marxist Theory. If you want to take the position of Marxism vs Fascism, then you would clearly have to group Communism [in practice] more with Fascism than Marxism. At the same time however, Marx believed in the necessary "transitional socialist stage" before his utopia could be attained. So that argument is not entirely tenable either.

Obama's fascistic tendencies are seen in his initiatives. They almost all entail some level of enhanced governmental bureaucracy. This is a clear collusion with big business on such things as his health care proposal. His foreign policy is no less imperialistic to that of Bush. He has not coherently addressed the patriotic act and the crack down on civil liberties. If you can't see these qualities in Obama, you must be deceiving yourself.

Fascist Italy was one of the first European Nations to open up trade with Communist Russia. Also when Mussolini was socializing his economy further (vowing to completely nationalize all businesses that employed at least 100 workers) he even reaffirmed ties with Marxists like Nicola Bombacci -who in turn helped to draft new legislation and contributed to a new Fascist Constitution.

I would have voted for Ron Paul if he had been on the ballot because he's the only one who has demonstrated a commitment to the ostensible rule of law - the Constitution.

But for the first time in my life I did not vote.

The radical in my wants to understand who the hell these people are and why the hell they're telling me that my mark on a piece of paper has anything to do with how they will rule over me, spy on me, steal my money, kill people in my name, etc.
