Moose Galore on the Northern Peninsula on Newfoundland

Moose were imported to Newfoundland in 1904. From just 4 individuals there are now an estimated 120,000 moose. Some of the highest moose densities in the province are found in the Roddickton area of the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland. This video shows some the moose we saw on a recent trip in June 2009. An article on this trip by Keith and Heather Nicol will appear in Saltscapes Magazine in 2010.

Actually it is the Gulf of St Lawrence where the video in Gros Morne Park was shot. Also all the references that I have seen point to the moose coming from N B. Do you have a reference for the Alberta connection?

Very nice video! I've been on the Viking Trail a time or two (hundred) but I never grow tired of seeing some of the places one more time.

@k2nicol St Pauls in the first of the video is up in the Gulf ,Plumb point is in the Strait of Belle Isle, Roddickton is On the eastern side of the Northern peninsula in Canada bay which is part of the open Atlantic instead...Nice Video

good videos , i enjoyed them, GOOD JOB, just to correct on you on a couple of small things....it is not the Gulf fo St Lawerance , it is Strait of Belle Isle and the moose were not imported from New brunswick, they came from Alberta as a gift to the Dominion of Newfoundland(at the time)...keep up the good work
