Matt Monro - Be My Lady

This very popular song was made famous in the Philippines by Martin Nievera and Marco Sison. I am inclined to believe that Matt Monro's the original artist and has the exceptional rendition although i like Martin's and Marco's too. However, confuse I am to hear that this was written by a Filipino? Was Martin the original artist? or was it Marco? How come Matt Monro got this version who died in 1985? Fine effort for posting this, and i have a cassette too with this song!

We used to play this version of Matt when i'm still playing the band...before Martin made this song famous in our country...Just wondering which one is the original?
