JP Gaster (Clutch) Best Drum Solo Ever & Bakerton Group Jam 2/16/08 Krugs Frederick, MD 2cam mix

Here's the new 2 cam mix of JP's masterful drum solo from Krugs, Frederick, MD on 2/16/08. This is one of my fave drum solos ever and also of IMO the very best solo i've heared from JP, and thats out of hundreds of live shows and tapes. Also tagged on the end is a Bakerton Group jam, which at the time was untitled. I love how this man, and his band, give 110 0x949d572laying in front of a 100 ppl at a place like Krugs just as they would in front of 2,000 at the Starland in NJ. Point being: Clutch is one class act, and their success has come from them being the hardest working band on the circuit.

@1gannuscio dunno if i'd go that far but yeah the way he moves around his toms and being able to keep a snare roll with one hand, very reminscent of bonzo. i think he's as close to bonzo as our generations got (anyone who thinks its mike portney well....just missing it)

DEFINATLY, esp his high-hat technique, about 1:20 in you can totally close your eyes and imagine Buddy. JPs the best single-kick, basic set-up, no frills, pound em out drummer out there today

Yes I agree. I think Clutch is one of the most under rated bands around. I really love them especially live. I am a huge BLS fan and Clutch is a close second. I can't wait to see them on tour together!
