The X- Pull is a simple common sense exercise. In order to perform an X-Pull you need a Functional Trainer with separate handles. As I have repeatedly told my staff, we only did pulldowns the old fashion way because we had too. The idea of crossing the arms and being able to move from internal to external rotation makes an old exercise a lot better. The cross body motion drastically improves the exercise also. If we have to do pulldowns, this is how they are done. The only change we make now is that we do them from a half kneel instead of standing.

  • I dig this! :) When I trained clients in the gym, we had Free Motion equipment. I miss 2 of those machines - the cable cross and the seated hi row (or whatever they called it). I loved having clients perform a 1-arm cross-body hi pull using that machine! Great anti-rotation exercise!

  • A great exercise!
