How do you evaluate the correct torque on the band clamps on the final tightening?

Its a powdered resin wood glue called Polymite, formally known as Cascamite. :-)

The torque setting on the drill I use is set to just below that of a hand tightened clamp so it will be to tight. The hand tightened clamp is by feel but the aim is to produce a decent bead of glue on both sides of the joint but not to squeeze too much out so the bond becomes poor.
