  • Thanks Gregory: I'm spicing or making up the ends of 1/4" , using it for felling leaning trees that need to be led. I have two more questions and maybe you can help.  the ends have a thimble and a aluminum crimp connector (manually installed). are the nutted U bolt type better, worse or the same in regards to slipping and structural integrity.. Is there a safety factor built in, 2 to 1 or 3 to 1, meaning, will wire with a safe working load of 1,000 lbs actually withstand a greater load.
