I tried to find some silence in this shallow space.
I pushed pillows in my ears - I concealed my face.

In 1999 I left town with this song on a cassette, playing in my car. My love was 650 miles away, but we kept waiting until a move was more affordable, more convenient. The song plays over and over, mile after mile. Until finally, it drove me to take a leap of faith, aim south and keep on going until we were finally together.
