Rhytec portrait plasma resurfacing- Dallas facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Sam Lam performs Rhytec Portrait Plasma resurfacing following an upper eyelid and fat grafting procedure.

The state-of-the-art technology for skin rejuvenation today is plasma resurfacing. Unlike older laser technology in which recovery times can be quite long and risk loss of skin color, today plasma offers the same level of deep skin rejuvenation with a recovery time of less than a week and without evidence to date (over 5 years of studies) of loss of skin color. In addition, the settings can be adjusted for even a shorter recovery time of a weekend, which would require three treatment sessions spaced a month apart for optimal rejuvenation. Not only are deeper wrinkles, uneven skin texture and tone, and other blemishes immediately improved but also there is ongoing improvement over the following year, as new collagen is awakened and grows.

Dr. Lam is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has authored three major facial plastic surgery textbooks, including Comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation: A Practical and Systematic Guide to the Aging Face, Cosmetic Surgery of the Asian Face, and the recently published Complementary Fat Grafting. Dr. Lam has also published over 100 book chapters and scientific articles on the subject of facial plastic surgery and lectures nationally almost on a monthly basis on facial plastic surgery and has lectured over 100 times to date. • I am surprised that you did not respond to my last post. You do say not to go above 3.0 under that eyes and to only do a single pass. Why won't you even agree to see pictures or comment on the energy used under my eyes?

  • i did. the last comment is mine. i did not comment on fluence because i am not here to agree or to disagree with what another physician did. i just explained why i do what i do. pictures of skin are so very hard to communicate anything. you really should have someone local see you in person. it is far safer than a youtube consultation on skin. i almost always misread what is going on and i do not want to give you the wrong advice here. anyway, i should not be giving medical advice here.

  • Yes,The last comment is your. The most recent comment was never approved. I am not asking for medical advice through youtube, just to send you pictures privately. I did see you telling a person to send you pictures. The pictures are extremely obvious as I had second degree burns to my undereyes after portrait. In your medical lectures which are on the internet you do give medical advice to your peers. I sought you out because you put yourself all over the internet. You seem the most knowledgeable!

  • i am not a burn specialist. i just think you are better served by a plastic surgeon that works on burns or a dermatologist who treats burns. i am just afraid that i won't be a good match to help your situation. i'm really sorry.

  • honestly, you should have someone see it in person. if it is just uneven brown streaks you might consider Obagi or some other bleaching product and/or another plasma by maybe someone experienced in doing it. a photo is impossible to tell and i would rather not comment specifically about settings.

  • Thanks for the reply. Is there any way I would be able to send you pictures especially of the undereye area? I don't live in Texas and I would love to know if there is anything you could do. I am a fitzpartrick one maybe two. What is your opinion on the energy used under my eyes (3.4) with scattered second pass. The rest of my face was done pretty unevenly. After the procedure and during recovery my skin had brown lines up and down my chin and my cheeks also had brown lines. thanks so much.

  • i have never heard of such a thing. you really should see your doctor or a dermatologist for evaluation. i cannot dispense precise medical advise on youtube. best wishes with that.

  • Dr. Lam,

I had this procedure done a year ago. I have raised skin in some places and flatter areas right next to those. The texture of my skin is uneven. After the procedure I had lines all over my face going in different directions.3.6 was used on face and 3.4 undereyes with scattered 2nd pass.I had trouble recovering under the eyes.If I get hot or exercise, I get extreme red there. My entire chin had stripes and now I can see and feel raised areas. Can anything correct this? thanks so much

  • rhytec works to improve the skin but it cannot make skin perfect just better. would have to see your condition to see.

  • hi i have a similar skin to this lady as in the orange peel skin effect does this treat this effect? thanks
