1976, Notre Dame Middle School in Crawley, West Sussex England saw the birth of one of the most important bands ever created. The Cure first started their musical career as a student band known as "The Obelisk", which later became "Easy Cure" after frontman Robert Smith became Easy Cure's lead in 1977. This later saw the emergence of "The Cure", a band which has seen many line-up changes, but has been at the forefront of it's musical genre and has been the influence for many artists and bands who would follow.

The release of their first album "Three Imaginary Boys" in 1979 saw The Cure rise from a student band, into what has become one of the biggest names in the world. Ten years later, their major breakthrough would come with the album "Disintegration", which has proved itself to be one of the best albums in music history, and is held in very high regard by fans to this day. The Cure's achievements are too long to be written here, but millions of Cure fans around the world enjoy the phenomena of Robert Smith's music, together with Simon Gallup's dark brooding bass-playing, their 34 year career is still strong to this day.

  • @Jlenectok Thank you very much :). As much as I love the album-versions, the raw talent of a live performance is hard to beat...especially if it's from The Cure!

  • one of the best musicians that have ever existed

that's so nice you choose live versions for the tributes

    + great pictures

  • Thank you my friend! I was hoping you would like this. A tribute piece is something I've been meaning to put together for some time really. We can never have enough Cure videos ;)
