Compost tea and how to apply it easily and quickly (with other compost making articles http://www.simplegiftsfarm.com/compost.html ) in your garden by award winning garden author Doug Green. Making compost tea is fairly straightforward but the spreading must happen within 12-24 hours of when you start to make it.

The bacteria and fungi you are propagating in the tea require food and oxygen to live and multiply. So the food runs out after approximately 24 hours as the microorganisms explode in population size. Without food, they'll die.

Microoganisms also require oxygen to continue to live and this is why we oxygenate the tank so heavily.

Keep them fed and well aerated and they'll live for 12-24 hours but after that, they tend to start dying.

Spread the compost tea - do not try to store it. Stored microorganisms will die and then the entire process has been a waste of time. Or worse, when the good microorganisms start to die, the bad (anearobic) microorganisms will colonize the tank to feed on the dying and dead.

It is easy and you don't require a compost spreader to do something like this. I like putting it on with a watering can because it's quick and easy. I just splash it around the garden making sure everything (unfortunately including myself) gets well-covered.

If you want to put it on through a sprayer, it is critical to filter the tea to remove particles that will clog a nozzle. And check the filters regularly as they will often plug up.

You can also put it on through a hose end sprayer but again, do filter the compost tea really well or you'll plug up the sprayer.
