If destiny had a sound, it would probably sound like this movement. All the despair, hopelesness and tragedies of one's live are captured in this austere piece. Yet, at the end there is-hope. I love how Schubert always reveals his message in a whisper.

I was so fortunate to see him play this and other Schubert Sonatas during his final tour. So beautiful, so emotionally played. It was perfect.
