@dookiekong007 Probably adjusted to the noise over time :) Sometimes I think I'd love to live somewhere like that but when I think about it, day after day the novelty probably would wear off!

I also landed a few times at Kai Tak airport in Hongkong in the late 80's and early 90's - it was always fun as you could look out of one side of the plane and see people eating in an apartment and see the same thing looking out the other side - the airport was also conveniently close to downtown. Now long gone. I also took off a few times too - also exciting - one time an Air China plane took off almost vertically in a thunder storm (you have to clear the mountains across the harbour).

This video sure brings memories.. i've landed at Kai Tak twice when i was a teen, and the feeling was SPECTACULAR! and the place where we stayed was also (more or less) close to the point where the planes would make that bank, which provided an AWESOME view! man.. too bad i didn't record any of them. the airport is no longer there.. sad, it had so much character but it'll live on forever in our hearts!
man, how did the people sleep at night? lol
