My Only Sunshine//One Shot

--Joe's Side.

I Sat there by her beside, watching her chest go up and down, eyes closed she layed completly still. ''Daddy!'' Sheridan squeeked as she ran into my arms. I picked her up sitting her on my lap, I tapped her nose lightly,"Hows my baby girl?''

Her eyes went from my face over to her moms. "Daddy.." She Gulped,"When is mama gonna wake up?'' I sighed shaking my head,"Sheridan--"

"Uncle Nicky!" Sheridan Squeeled again, taking off into Nick's arms. I stood up,"Thanks For bringing her up here.." Nick and I hadn't talked much since the whole incident. I remembered it just like it was yesterday. ''Your Whife has Cancer, Mr.Jonas.'' I stood there buckled in my shoes.

That night she was having a bad dream, She fell off the bed hitting her head pretty hard, Knocking her into a coma;It was like God was trying too tell me something in a hard way.

Nick pulled me aside, As Sheridan sat down in my seat looking around the room. "How is she?" He asked concerned. "I Don't know, The doctors havn't came in today..I was waiting on them before I went to get lunch."

"Joe, You need to go home for a night or two and get some rest, Your Exhausted." I shook my head and looked over at Sheridan making sure she was okay,"No, I can't leave her.I Just can't do it Nick. She could be gone in any second and I wanna be here."

I looked back at him to where I was facing him,"I'm Gonna Take Sheridan out for some food, Do you want anything?" "No, I'll eat in the Cafateria.'' I Walked back over pulling Sheridan out of her seat,"Go with Nick.." I pointed and whispered in her ear, She smiled as always and grabbed Nick's hand.

I sat down in the chair still staring at her, I seen her hand flinch alittle, ignoring it I layed my head in my hands closing my eyes. ''Joe.." I heard a faint whisper, Sounded like it was her voice, But I assumed it was a dream until I opened my eyes too see her staring at me.

I jumped up pushing the seat back against the wall, I rubbed the hair off her forehead,"Baby..Your Awake--I Love You!'' I kissed her forehead as her slightly shrivled lips went into a curled smile. "I Love you too--Where's Sheridan?" Her voice was raspy with every word she spoke.

"I sent her down with Nick too get some food.." She raised her hand putting it on my face and carassing my cheek,"Baby, you should really get some sleep. Your exhausted.." She whispered. I shook my head letting my stubborn side show. "No; I'm Not Sleeping until your home in my arms..My Angel, I Love you." I said it over and over again.

I lightly kissed her on the lips, and as I pulled away I noticed her eyes close and thats when a doctor walked in the room,"Mr. Jonas is there something wrong?'' He asked concerned. "She wasjust awake..I Swear, She told me she loved me and everything--And.."

"Mrs.Johnson will you please take Mr.Jonas here outside for some fresh air..I think that the hospital is getting to them.." I Gave the doctor a dirty look,"Dont you dare! I know what I saw!" The nurse started to pull on my arm, I pulled my arm back away from her,"No! I'm Staying in here! She was Awake! I know she was! I'm Not lying!" I yelled at the doctor as he stood there shaking his head in disbeleif.

Thats when Sheridan and Nick walked in, Sheridan running to my arms. "Daddy..Can I sit by mommy?" I sat her down in the bed without even thinking still staring at the doctor in a grimful way. I kept arguing with the doctor, but after five minutes Nick started to tap my arm pointing.

I Looked over, Sheridan Was hovering over her,"You are my sunshine..My only Sunshine...You make me happy when Skys Go greyyy.." Sheridan sang at the top of her lungs, But I could tell she was on the verge of crying. I smiled slightly pulling Sheridan off the bed. "Please daddy one more time--one more time!"

"One More Time" I sat her back up on the bed as she sang the same line again, this time kissing her on the cheek. The Doctor helped Sherdian down and pushed me back towards the wall,"Please stay back there while we check her!"

"Can I please stand--" The Doctor shot me a look,"Mr. Jonas, I'm Getting Very tired of your rudeness, You either stay where I put you or get out!" He yelled threw clenched teeth, I looked over too see her eyes flutter open, I started running over to her. "Mr.Jonas!" The Doctor yelled keeping me back.

"Get your hands off of me!" I pushed him away, backing him up against the wall, I ran over to her moving the hair out of her face,"Demi--Please Stay with me! Please! Dont' leave me again! Please!" The Tears started to flow down my face. Nick put Sheridan up on the bed as she climbed over to Demi,"Mommy! Daddy's right! Please Don't." She hugged Demi's neck.

"I'm Not going anywhere, I Love you both.." Demi carassed my cheek.
