News!
The next move for TDES ...

STICK NEWS: Former All Black saves day
cws: About the move
qa: Nova Scotia

I'm so excited about this opportunity at Acadia University -- for many reasons.
One reason is that I love studying and teaching and I've never been to a university in another country (apart from NZ and Japan). I'm really interested to see what a Canadian university is like.
Also, if this works out well, maybe a similar opportunity will come up in the future. Maybe The Daily English Show could visit another university or educational institute in another country. One of my dreams is to take The Daily English Show on a kind of world tour -- spending a few months in each country. This is the start of it - TDES Canada. We are going back to Japan for winter. After that we are thinking about the next move ... let me know if you have any suggestions. Which country should we go to?

  • Sounds like a great opportunity Sarah! TDES will mark 500 in NS? Congratulations and yet again continued success

  • Thank you! Yes, I'm thinking of organising a party for the 500th in NS.

  • Mexico. Go to Mexico. I'll meat you there.

  • Mexico ... funny you mention that, it's one of the places I've been thinking about a lot recently. I got sidetracked for a few hours the other day reading about Mexico. Maybe I will see you there!

  • Thought: other side of the world :p

  • Yeah, true. I can't get over how big Canada is! Crazy.

  • My English is mostly perfect, but I would love to take lessons from Sara anyway... This brings up the topic: Different meanings for the English word "Hot" - she doesn't need to say anything for definition I'm thinking of.

  • I imagine a French or a Spanish speaking country would hit a larger audience! Never been to Mexico, but I think it's a good start. You have o be a lot more careful there, though. Corrupt police and poor people can be quite vicious.
