I think you're getting so much shit for this video because you're trying to use mics on a song thats infamous for its live performances. Also youre just not getting weird enough. Theyre literally screaming in that song in their strange falsetto voices and youre just trying to hit high notes.

my best suggestion is to change the song up and make it unique. I would rather hear a totally different interpertation rather than you trying to repeat the sound. of course i dont know if i would change this specific song... you could also bring the lead vocals up because the backrounds are kinda overpowering. All in all a great cover tho, just some positive feedback. keep up te good work:)
