It was wonderful to see Steve Rubel; he is the authority on all things public relations who has created the astonishingly influential and valuable Micropersuasion blog. (Get the RSS feed on this one.)

I spoke with Steve at the AlwaysOn Conference at Stanford last week. He is always ahead of the curve and it's always interesting to find out what he thinks is new. He spoke with Beet.TV about the virtual world of Second Life and the opportunity it presents for communications professionals.

If you don't know about, it, Second Life is a wildly popular and quickly growing kind of virtual world where members live fantasy lives, get jobs, even buy and sell things for real money. And yes, there is a virtual news media in Second Life --- and Steve has some good pointers on how to properly engage fantasy journalists! This is actually very serious -- big marketers are paying big bucks to be in this world, so PR people better start cracking. Amazing but true!
