Get with your Pastor, and also speak to an Orthodox Pastor about this issue. You are not ignorant. Please be very careful here and on the internet in general. @frankbateau1 Not to mention the word filioque is used in the greek creed as it is, who with the father AND THE SON(filioque) is worshipped and glorified, the problem is the word before the filioque in the instance of the "filoque addition" ...The Greek word can mean originates while the Latin text only means proceeds. The latin church rejects also that the spirit originates from the son, they believe only that the spirit proceeds/is sent forth from, the son.

@frankbateau1 No the filioque issue is not resolved, it was merly a sighn of respect by the Pope to recite the creed without the filioque, we do not the reject the creed as incorrect without the filioque merly as incomplete. Eastern rite Catholics, such as the Maronites and melikites also recite the creed without the addition.

Such a decision had to be ratified by an Ecumenical Council of the Church, but no such a thing happened, even though the Churches were united back then.
