I found my warm place, and it's drifting away to this song on a cloudy day. It's not happy or sad, it's like the acceptance that floods your body after all that happens. It's the peace you find after you've grieved for a long time, and the gentle lull you fall into after a profoundly happy day. It is the sweetest interlude of sorts that I have ever heard. If I lived a thousand years, or died tomorrow, I would want this to be one of the last things to guide me away.

I looked up the most accepted interpretation of the album and apparently this is the point where the protagonist reflects on all those he hurt during his rebellion against God and Man and he begins to regret everything he's done, realizing he's become the exact thing he sought to escape.

I think that was Trent's mission with this song. Although it's such a calm and easy song, it was never meant to be a song to get comfortable to. In my vision of TDS as a whole this song is where the protagonist gets about as close as he ever will to accepting things as they are... which isn't very much, especially since the songs after it are so destructive and suicidal (in my mind, anyway).
