I thought she did amazing. It's definitely NOT her personality to be playing that role, but she did her best and and I think it's fantastic. It's a hard role to play. She's extremely talented.

So painful. And the worst thing is that they're in Hollywood! At any given time there's probably six girls just walking down Sunset Blvd. that would have been a better casting choice than High School What's-Her-Name.

I like Vanessa and all, but I really don't think she was right for this role. It wasn't horrible. It just seemed... wrong, somehow. I prefer Rosario Dawson as Mimi (her version of this song is my favorite song right now).

I think she's used to being on film......not on stage. They are two completely different acting concepts. I didn't hate her but I didn't like her either. So I'm just gonna stick to Rosario Dawson as my favorite Mimi ;)

I am one of the harshest critics of Rent out there. I adore this show. It has deep meaning to me personally and I don't feel she was a terrible choice as Mimi at all. It is a very different Mimi. Mimi is 19 years old, she sounds the most like a 19 year old girl of all of the Mimi's I have seen. Don't be so harsh and enjoy this great show. The message is still there and that is all that truly matters

People are being harsh, I understand it's not the best performance of this song - but this is a ridiculously hard song to pull off, and she committed to it and stayed in character, which is very impressive. She did not ruin this play at all, she doesn't have a strong voice, but she has a good voice, and I know there are better portrayals of Mimi, I agree, but she did well and i respect it.
