I hope you realize that Scotland doesn't only rely on English funds. It does go both ways. Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England all depend on each other. If we broke up the United Kingdom then each country would find themselves in bother.

That version of the language isn't spoken in Ireland or Scotland anymore. Up until the 20th Century, there was a continuum of regional dialects along the archipelago starting in Munster and changing gradually as it moved North through Ireland and the Hebrides. In the 20th Century, Ireland standardized Gaelige and called it "Irish". The Gaels are one people.
