Good work with this episode, I'm going to post this on my blog and maybe it'll get a few more hits, haha! Politics and music are an EPIC combination. This show is so good I'm going to have to watch it regularly, even though we have monthly 5GB data limitations on New Zealand broadband connections.

Look, I don't want any of your Keynesian - Post-Keynesian garbage, in fact I think all of Marx's and Keynes's works should all be publicly burned. I don't waste too much of my time trying to reason with people who abstain from it, it's like giving medicine to the dead. Fact is, empirically Keynesianism has failed as well as socialism, and those who espouse these systems or any derivatives of these systems are pointless to talk to.

Keep this civil , I didn't insult you. You just used talking points rather than analysis to dispute my claims. I can show you dozens of models and articles backing up what I'm saying. Don't be ideological, you need to be practical and deal with reality when discussing economics. If you want my sources, message me and I'll be happy to continue this discussion further. Keynesian and Post-Keynesian are two ENTIRELY different schools of thought. And Marxism and Marxian economics are also different.

You're delirious. You can make as many appendages to failed systems such as Keynesianism and Marxism all you like, the fact is that they have failed terribly. They failed not because the right people did not implement them properly in practice, but because they are a failure in theory. Take the Keynesian solution to economy stimulus we're currently prescribe; central bank money printing. What a failure in practice let alone theory.

The economic calculation problem was actually debunked by Oskar Lange's Market Socialism a while back. Furthermore, you assume that those schools of thought only imply state ownership of the means of production, which isn't necessarily true. The Neo-Marxians, Post-Keynesians, and Socialists acknowledged the faults of the LTV and amended it to fit modern conditions in order to deal with prices and calculation.

Austrian Economics is based on apriori axiom of human actions, meaning its theory is derived from the fact that all human must act. It's self-evident. Keynesianism, Marxism, Socialism do not account human action, not to mention that socialism, by definition, has no price system as the State owns all resources, therefore economic calculation under socialism is impossible and it's doomed from the start.
