I give my thoughts of the Tweenager book series "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," soon to be a major motion picture series. It's a great introduction to Greek mythology and polytheistic theology! ...and a fun read, too.

Loved it, of course. And it really gives some good "transferable" skills and understanding about magic, world-view, offerings, etc. And fun as hell, too. My wife and I can't wait for the movie!

I bought the book after reading your review. I still haven't made it past the first couple pages but the main character seems interesting.

We bought the lightening theif..I read it and now my son is reading it. When he finishes we'll go see it in the theater. Just got the second in the series..getting ready to open that one as well. Great series, we are learning quite a bit about the mythology of the Greeks.

Joshua is really into Greek mythology.. way more so than Celtic. LOL. So, I have a feeling he'd like it.
