This was taken at my son's percussion concert at Asheboro High School. This was a rather dark pc. called "Sacrificial Rite". It's a little lengthy but if you're into percussion you will find it interesting. It was led by Ms. Suzanne Benhart, asst. band director. My son is on the front left side banging on the big bass drum.

  • I loved playing this piece at my old school. We used impact marching base drums instead of toms and had one person on marimba doing 4 mallets.

    I'd say it was a good performance right there. The guy on the left could of had more dynamic on the first big solo, and watch out on technique when playing the claves; cupping one in your hand will give you a better sound :)

    Also that last chimes and bell note always makes me cringe :p I bowed crotales with a violin bow, and oh boy it made my ears hurt.
