I shivered and looked down at my books.
*End of the Day*
I ran through the halls excitedly to Joe's class.
He was standing at the door, feeling his way out.
"Joe, its Demi." i grabbed his hand pulling him toward the door to the parking lot.
He smiled, fixing his glasses.
We stood at my truck.
"Demi .. is it okay to be afraid?" he whispered.
I nodded. "Y-yeah.."
"Are you sure we should do this?" he asked.
I was actually having second thoughts.
I was messing with the natural order of things..
He was meant to be blind.
Maybe it was meant that he never saw me.
"Joe .. hold on."
I hopped in my truck, and sat in the seat, closing my eyes.
I began whispering.
"Tell me if i should give Joe vision .. tell me if i should give Joe vision.."
I got this gut feeling .. i didnt want to give him his vision back.
Maybe if he saw me .. he would want someone else.
I was slowly falling for him..
To lose him would be terrible.
I COULD always use my gift to MAKE him love me..
Hell, i could make anyone love me.
I could make Joe president.
I could be president!
I could make there be no such thing as school.
But i didnt want to.
I wanted so much to be normal.
I could even use my gift to make it go away.
To never get what i want again.
But i was born like this for a reason.
A reason i didnt know.
A reason i wasnt supposed to know.
"Demi?" Joe whispered, sitting in the passenger side.
"Joe .. can i talk to you? Like, seriously?" i asked.
"Yeah, what is it?" he asked.
"Do you like me?" i shut my eyes tightly.
He breathed deeply, turning it into a sigh. "Yes."
"Okay .. okay. Do you think if i gave you vision, that you would change your mind about that?" i asked, opening my eyes slowly.
He raised his head. "I dont know.."
"How about this .. i'll give you vision for a day. Okay?"
He nodded. "Thank you."
"Just .. hold on and stay still."
I squeezed my eyes shut.
This took longer than normal.
"GAH!" Joe yelped.
I opened my eyes.
He had ripped his glasses off.
His eyes were squeezed closed, and he was doubled over in pain.
"What happened?!" i asked.
His eyes opened slowly.
He stared at the ground.
His fingers reached out and touched the mat on the floor of my truck.
He lifted his head slowly.
His eyes were closed gently.
"Joe .. open your eyes." i whispered.
His eyes fluttered open, revealing the most beautiful chocolate brown eyes in the world.
I gasped, getting lost in them.
"Demi .. i see you." he smiled.
I smiled and squealed, hugging him.
His thumb reached out and traced the outline of my lips.
"Demi .. Demi .. Demi.." he whispered, smiling crazily.
"Joe .. how do you like it?" i asked.
His smiled drooped slightly and he held onto his head, shaking it back and forth.
Oh God.
