Oakland, California resident Joshua Kaufman used theft-tracking software Hidden to locate his stolen computer, leading to the arrest of 27-year-old cab driver, Muthanna Aldebashi, who was in possession of the computer and had, unbeknownst to him, been photographed doing all sorts of things by Kaufman's computer.

@anuthutantrum Actually most people are like that. I repair laptops and I regularly get customers who ask me to "fix their broken laptop". And by broken they mean they don't have a password. They ask me "you need the password to get into it?" and I say "Do you need keys to get into your car and your house?" One person even told me their password wouldn't work because they computer got wet. Yeah right.

But it's not foolprroof, for example a thief stole a laptop, what will he do with it for the very first time .... he will reinstall the operating system, so it will change every settings in computer along with the IP address and there'll be no ANTI-THEFT software left.
